  1. Short:    Gateway program. FidoNet <-> AmigaUUCP

  6. Basically AmiGate will convert your UUCP news/emails into FidoNet
  7. echomail/netmail and the other way around. That's it.

  9. Short feature list:

  11.  o Public or private gating.
  12.  o Fully FidoNet FTS/FSC compliant.
  13.  o Direct support for DLG user.data.
  14.  o Mailing list -> Echomail conversion.
  15.  o Crossposting can be ignored (Eg. only posted to the first matching area.)
  16.  o MIME-support (also for quoted-printable).
  17.  o Will not post to moderated areas but instead send email to moderator.
  18.  o FidoNet bouncing. Will inform sender if something goes wrong.
  19.  o Optional accounting for emails.
  20.  o Total customization of how to port the headers in UUCP messages.

  22. Even if you don't have a FidoNet address, using it together with Spot
  23. (a very nice FidoNet editor by Nico Francois) is much more pleasing than
  24. using the mail and news readers available on the Amiga. (Please note that
  25. this is my personal opinion ;-)

  27. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  29.  o Kickstart 37.175 or higher.
  30.  
  31.  o AmigaUUCP v1.17 or higher. 1.16 will work but generates dubious headers.
  32.      All binaries, sources, and man pages for 1.17b4 are available for
  33.      anonymous ftp from Hopper.ITC.Virginia.EDU:/pub/amiga and for BMS from
  34.      adastra.cvl.va.us.
  35.  
  36.  o traplist.library version 4 or higher.
  37.      ftp.luth.se:pub/aminet/comm/fido/TL_LIB.lzh

  39.  o FidoNet editor/tosser of your choice. Spot recommended for private use.
